SLEEP Confirms They're On Hiatus But Didn't Break Up

Sleep has gone to sleep.

Sleep reunited in 2009 and has since released a full-length and two standalone singles. Then in November 2019, Sleep announced a handful of New Year's shows alongside a comment hinting at some sort of break.

Sleep did not clarify at the time what this meant, but has since issued a brief statement saying they're not breaking up. They're just having some downtime.

Sleep has not broken up. After these NYE shows we are taking a much needed break for the time being. Thank you all and happy new year.

Hey, remember the last time Sleep "totally wasn't up to anything" and then dropped The Sciences out of nowhere? Of course I'm not saying that'll definitely happen, especially given Matt Pike's duties with High On Fire, but I'm certainly hoping for it.
