Tony Iommi Isn't Opposed To A One-Off BLACK SABBATH Show

"I think that it would be good, if we could do that."

Black Sabbath called it quits in 2017 after an extensive farewell tour that ended in the band's hometown of Birmingham. Since then, members of the band have weighed in on potentially doing a one-off show. Bassist Geezer Butler said he's fine with not doing anything else, while Ozzy has said maybe there should be one final gig with drummer Bill Ward back in the band.

Now in an interview with SiriusXM's Trunk Nation, guitarist Tony Iommi said it'd be nice if there could be a one-off Black Sabbath show. Though Iommi adds they'd have to think about how to do it differently, as their usual tour appearances were pretty high-production events.

"I think that it would be good, if we could do that. The hard thing is, certainly with Sabbath, because it's such a big thing, you can't just do an occasional show, because of the crew, and you have the whole setup. It would have to be a year or an 18-month tour… I'm not opposed to doing anything; I just would do it in a different way."

This is pretty consistent with remarks Iommi made in both 2017 and 2016 about there potentially being one-off shows in the future.

Elsewhere in the interview, Iommi talks about his love for Heaven & Hell. For those unfamiliar, Heaven & Hell existed between 2006 and 2010, and consisted of Iommi, Butler, vocalist Ronnie James Dio, and drummer Vinny Appice.

"Especially after the Ronnie thing, I really loved that period, [being] back with Dio, we were really cracking on with that band, and it was a great band. And then we'd done the Sabbath thing with Ozz, which was great, to finish up. But I should think if Ronnie was alive, I'd probably be doing something with him now."
