Happy New Year everybody. 2016 is a year where we allegedly will no longer get an opportunity to experience Motley Crue's Farewell Tour. Because they played their (allegedly, but yea right) absolute final show at Los Angeles’ Staples Center last night and they gave fans a memory they will never forget.
By memory, I mean Tommy Lee got stuck during his infamous drum solo where he essentially rides a roller coaster playing drums, and as you can see above… he was not stuck in a fun position. The Hollywood Reporter states:
During drummer Tommy Lee’s solo, his infamous drum kit roller coaster malfunctioned, leaving the rock star suspended upside down halfway through his performance. As road crew members scrambled up the structure, Lee said, "It looks like the roller coaster is broken, well fuck the roller coaster! Come on guys, help. Come get me. I can’t believe this is happening on the last night. I knew something wasn’t right when I took off."
Lee then climbed down the roller coaster and guitarist/statue Mick Mars played a solo while techs pushed the drumkit back down.
What a way to go out. Here's some video of the event:
At least everybody got a funny story out of the Crue "final" show.
