POISON's Bret Michaels on MOTLEY CRUE Tour: “We Don’t Know” If It Will Happen

Spoiler: it's going to get postponed.

MOTLEY CRUE DEF LEPPARD POISON JOAN JETT tour 2020

Take it from us, and we are not an official source by any means, but the entirety of the Motley Crue, Def LeppardPoison and Joan Jett tour is about to be canceled. These very expensive tickets are a hot commodity, so it's understandable why the artists and promoters have been trying to let fans down easily, but with stay-at-home orders still in place in a lot of States, and large gatherings still banned for the near future, it just won't happen.

This weekend, two of the dates were finally postponed – July 2nd date at Cincinnati, Ohio's Great American Ball Park and the August 28th date at Chicago, Illinois' Wrigley Field. But according to Poison's Bret Michaels, none of the bands know what's up.

He tells AZcentral.com last week:

“At the moment, we don’t know. That answer is confirmed. We don’t know. The health is number one. The health of the fans. The band’s crew. The people working at the venues. The first responders. That comes first. And if the CDC says it’s a go? I will be there, ready to rock. [And if not], then it’s not over. It’s just postponed. Those dates have almost all completely sold out. We added a second night at Fenway. I think Jacksonville went quick. Milwaukee was the quickest sellout they ever had. It was like 43 minutes.”

There is no way the CDC will say it is a go.

Last week, Motley Crue posted a statement that they are working on making an official announcement on June 1st about the tour:

"We wanted to reach out to all of our amazing fans and let you know that we've been hard at work preparing an amazing show. Our priority during this unprecedented time is to make sure that we are being as thoughtful and responsible as possible in the decisions we are making regarding The Stadium Tour and that we are putting the fans' health, well being and safety first and foremost. We are currently weighing all options and are awaiting further direction from the powers that be. Our goal is to have an official update to everyone by June 1 outlining exactly how we will proceed. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy. We cant wait to see you all again."

So, if you have tickets for one of these shows and you are still holding out hope that they will happen, you have about 12 days to come to terms with the idea that these shows will most likely happen in 2021 now.

It should be noted that with Live Nation's and Ticketmaster's new policy, you have 30 days from the announcement of the postponement to claim a refund, otherwise the tickets get automatically transferred to the new dates.
