Good to see James Hetfield is coming back to public life!

Metallica vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield announced he'd donate 10 of his classic cars to the Petersen Automotive Museum in August 2019. These cars include the 1948 Jaguar Black Pearl and the 1937 Lincoln Zephyr Voodoo Priest, and will be displayed in the Bruce Meyer Family Gallery "along with Metallica artifacts and memorabilia." One month later in September 2019, Hetfield entered rehab and Metallica delayed their touring plans.

Now, for the first time since then, Hetfield will be returning to public life. Hetfield will attend the opening night of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, CA on January 30 to display what has been dubbed Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection.

Join James Hetfield and the Petersen Automotive Museum as we unveil our newest exhibition, Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection. For the first time, all 10 of James’ custom creations will be on display together in one “rockin’” exhibition! Enjoy a fireside chat with James Hetfield and an auction with exclusive items as you sip on cocktails and enjoy the amazing new exhibition.

Sure it's exciting to see some great-looking cars on display, but I think all our hearts are with Hetfield and his efforts to remain sober. General admission is $35 and you can get tickets here.
