As the clock struck midnight and January 1st, 2018 was here, I couldn't believe how many albums that meant so much to me at the time are now celebrating their 10th anniversary. It seems like 2008 was a pretty big year for metal, with big releases from bands like Metallica, Slipknot, Meshuggah and Opeth, a return to form from Testament, who were rejoined by Alex Skolnick, an amazing return from Cynic and some great albums from up and coming bands like All Shall Perish and Whitechapel.
