Phil Anselmo does not rest. His solo band just wrapped up touring and he has a huge horror festival he's curating next month. Rather than use this time to rest, he's using it to write new material with his main project, Down.
Anselmo posted two photos to his Instagram page last night, showing the band is working on new material in his jam space with the caption:

It's great to see Jimmy Bower out and about after the loss of the drummer in his other band, Eyehategod, Joey LaCaze.
Down is still bass-less as bassist Pat Bruders quit both Crowbar and Down a few weeks ago.
Could we expect a follow up to The Purple EP by the end of the year? I would say early next year is a safer bet.
