It's clear that The AV Club love having Gwar on their covers series, "Undercover." In the last few years, the aliens from another planet have covered Kansas' "Carry On Our Wayward Son," Billy Ocean's "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car" and Cindy Lauper's ode to lady masturbation "She-Bop."
With the US election today, GWAR felt it appropriate to send a message to voters. The band covered AC/DC's “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” and during their match, presidental hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump faced off in the ultimate no holds barred battle. Who comes out on top? (Spoiler: GWAR!)
GWAR just also announced a very special limited release for Record Store Day, honoring the late great Oderus and his final recording:
“[On] Record Store Day (11/25/17) AKA Black Friday, GWAR will release a limited edition picture disc called “Black Friday” featuring their covers of Billy Ocean’s ‘Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car’ and ‘West End Girls’ from The Pet Shop Boys.’Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car’ will be on Side A (Oderus). This was Dave Brockie AKA Oderus Urungus’ final recording with GWAR. Side B (Blöthar) ‘West End Girls’ was the first recording by GWAR featuring new singer Blöthar.”
