We might not be getting a new Tool album this year, but that doesn't mean that drummer Danny Carey isn't getting ready to put out some new material. Later this month, expect a full album of prog jams from his side project, Volto.
Loudwire first reported on the album, which will be a jazz-fusion record with Don Henley’s session and tour bassist Lance Morrison and Pigmy Love Circus guitarist John “Volto” Ziegler.
The band initially started as a covers band but eventually evolved into a full-on project. They have a 9 track album called Incitare due out on July 23rd. It will feature artwork by Carey's TOOL bandmate, Adam Jones and production work by long-time TOOL knob-turner Joe Baressi. For now, we have this one track to hold us over:
