Metallers SUICIDE SILENCE posted a blog on their official Myspace Page regarding recent comments about their merchandise recently being entered into Hot Topic's inventory. Here is what the band has to say:
For those of you who feel that selling our merch in Hot Topic is selling out, you need to understand the reality of the music business. Bands like us will not be able to survive off of CD sales due to the nature of the music, downloading, etc. If we have any shot at continuing to write music and tour, we need to take every opportunity available to get our merchandise out there and spread the awareness of the band. If you feel that our music starts to get weak, then lay it on us, but until then, please don't bitch about this band selling out. Hot Topic is a retail store that anyone can walk into and pick something up. We have nothing to do with whatever trends are associated with it nor do we care.
SUICIDE SILENCE will be releasing their as of yet unnamed release through Century Media later this year. A new track entitled "Bludgeoned To Death" has been posted online here.
