Slash Says He And Axl Rose Are On Friendly Terms Again

Hmm, and just as two guitarists quit Guns N Roses. Coincidence?

Hmm, and just as two guitarists quit Guns N Roses. Coincidence?

Something is going on with Guns N Roses, and it could be something big.

The big news today is Slash appeared on a Swedish show, Aftonbladet TV, and revealed that he and Axl Rose are on friendly speaking terms again, saying:

"It was probably way overdue, you know. But it's…. you know, it's very cool at this point. You know, let some of that, sort of, negative… dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long."

Obviously, this lead to the reporter asking if a GNR reunion could be a possibility, which Slash gave a non-answer to:

"Oh, I couldn't answer that one, though…" Pressed on why that is, Slash replied: "All right, let's get off the subject, 'cause, you know, that's an old one."

This comes on the heels of two guitarists quitting Guns N Roses. DJ Ashba quit the band last month to "focus on other projects" and while Bumblefoot hasn't flat out said he's out, it's very clear he's no longer in the band. Slash is the only original member whom Axl has never invited up on stage with the new reincarnated version of Guns N Roses.

I wouldn't start saving my money for the inevitable reunion shows until we hear the same from Axl's mouth though. Business-wise, it makes absolute sense. A reunion between both Axl and Slash would generate huge publicity for a sellout tour and the possibility of a new album with the two performing together. But we're getting way ahead of ourselves just yet. Again, we shouldn't jump to any conclusions until we at least hear Axl confirm the news.
