Update: Rage Against the Machine is not reuniting. We have since learned that Rage, minus vocalist Zach De La Rocha, is teaming with Public Enemy's Chuck D. and Cypress Hill's B-Real on the mic for this new band, Prophets of Rage. Here's the latest.
If ever there was a perfect time for Rage Against the Machine to forge a comeback, right now is the time, during peak election cycle. Turns out, Rage Against The Machine might agree with that statement, and there are several big clues to point us in that direction.
First off, a new website has launched, ProphetsOfRage.com – which has gotten so much traffic today, that it's already crashed. But taking a lot at the cached version, we see that it's a countdown with the hashtag #TakeThePowerBack, counting down to two weeks from today. Here's a screenshot:
Around Los Angeles, posters have been popping up displaying the same message:

Speaking of which, if you signed up for that mailing list on the countdown page, here is the image you get in your inbox:
Now, "Prophets of Rage" is a famous Public Enemy song. Let's see if frontman Chuck D. has any clues as pertaining to this event?

Oh, what a coincidence? The same day this goes up Chuck D. posts a Rage live clip.
Ultimately, we'll find out what's going on in two weeks. But if Rage Against the Machine are doing a summer tour, I will be there with bells on. Rage haven't played live for over five years. Four years ago, there were some rumors of possible writing and tours, but that was shot down quick.
