Rex Brown always struck me as the normal one in Pantera. He always came off like a chill dude, who just went with the flow and never stirred the pot. Clearly, he is proving to be a level-headed dude. As we all know, there are always dream scenarios presented about a Pantera reunion, with somebody like Kerry King or Zakk Wylde stepping in for Dimebag. During a recent interview, Rex was asked about just that and was just not into it for all the right reasons:
Many Pantera fans have been calling for a sort of reunion. What are your thoughts on that?
I just don't see it happening. It would be great in one factor, that we would play with Vinnie again and that it would be all sorted out. But, I think it would be… I just don't think it would be right without Dime. It was only the four of us, and I don't know anybody that can play like him.In other words, Pantera was four core members and four original members only.
That's it. I don't think you could replace one and just get up there and do it.
Good! That is the best possible answer. A Pantera reunion should not happen and I am glad one of the other band members feels the same way.
