On Sunday, October 5, guitarist Bernie Versailles (Redemption, ex-Fates Warning, Agent Steel) was rushed to the hospital after suffering an aneurysm overnight where surgery was immediately performed. According to the same post that revealed this information on the Redemption Facebook page, the surgery went well but Versailles still remains in "very serious condition." The post goes on to talk briefly about the surgery and Versailles' health.
"Bernie is young and in otherwise good health, and those are favorable factors for recovery. I do not have details on the severity of Bernie's condition upon arrival, which is the other factor. Evidently an aneurism is not something that needs to be attended to within half an hour of happening; surgery is typically performed within 24 hours, so it is certainly possible that everything will be fine."
Agent Steel bassist Michael Zaputil added Versailles' is a clean-living musician, which only adds to how much this truly sucks. The Redemption post clearly stated they didn't want to talk too much about Versailles' condition out of consideration for both he and his family. So here's hoping everything turns out okay for the gifted musician… many positive thoughts from us here at Metal Injection!
