Quick Bits – STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, GOJIRA, VITAL REMAINS, DESPISED ICON, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD

DODSFERD have completed a new album, titled “Cursing Your Will To Live”. A split album and 7″ are currently in the works. No release dates have been announced yet.

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD has had 4 tracks from albums that are out of print, or were never released beyond Japan on a 7″ vinyl limited to 500 hand-numbered copies. It will be titled “C:enter:###”. You can order a copy at this location.

BEHOLD… THE ARCTOPUS have finished their new album titled “Skullgrid”. The band an Black Market Activities/Metal Blade are hoping for an October release date.

ABORYM have parted ways with guitarist Nysrok Infernalien. The band is hoping to record a new album in 2008.

ULVER has stated that they have completed their most recent effort, “Shadows Of The Sun”, hoping for a fall release.

GOJIRA vocalist/guitarist Joe Duplantier will play bass on the upcoming project with Max Cavalera and Igor Cavalera. Recording sessions began last week with producer Dirty Icon. Roadrunner is expected to release the effort in late 2007.

VITAL REMAINS will have their latest album, “Icons Of Evil” released through Restrain Records as a double vinyl, with a gatefold sleeve, and printed lyrics sleeves.

DESPISED ICON will have their latest album,”The Ills Of Modern Man” released on vinyl in August through Deepsend Records. The pressing will have 500 hand-numbered copies, 300 camouflage, 200 yellow haze and 100 black, will all come in a gatefold LP.

LENG TCH’E have announced that Tony Van den Eynde from the band THE SEVENTH will take departed drummer Svencho’s place on drums.

KHANN have posted the song “Silver Mouth” at their MySpace page. The song comes from their upcoming release, “Tufotopia” due out later this year through Black Market Activities.

Recently reformed Nuclear Blast band RESURRECTION have announced that Gabriel Lewandowski (ACHERON, Ex-HELLWITCH, EQUINOX) will be playing the rest of their tour dates in Florida.

The band recently recorded a 4-song EP which was mixed by James Murphy. The disc is for promotional purposes only.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD have posted the following statement about vocalist Jamie Hooper:

“As we start the Ozzfest tour, we are unfortunately one member short. Jamie Hooper has been experiencing problems with his voice and thus his ability to sing. Under the recommendation of doctors, Jamie has been advised not to perform until his voice has healed. As a result, Jamie will not be appearing with us on Ozzfest. Justin Hagberg will be pulling double duty, playing guitar and singing most of Jamie’s parts. We hope Jamie’s recovery is as painless as possible and is back in the fold by the fall.”

There are some rumors floating around recently that BROKEN HOPE may re-unite.

MERCILESS will have their album “Unbound” re-released on vinyl on August 29th via War Anthem Records. The release coincides with the bands 20 year anniversary.
