PARADISE LOST Drummer Adrian Erlandsson Quits

Drummer Lost... their fourth one yet.

Paradise Lost made the announcement yesterday that it had signed to Nuclear Blast and that "it's exciting for Paradise Lost to be a part of Nuclear Blast in 2017!" So if that means some neat touring bills, some new music, a compilation release or whatever, we're not sure outside the fact that Paradise Lost is now signed to Nuclear Blast.

The announcement came alongside the picture that you see of the band above, which had fans immediately asking where drummer Adrian Erlandsson was as well, which then bore the second announcement for the band – he'd left the group to concentrate on his other bands, namely At The Gates and The Haunted.

“For the ones that don’t already know, I am no longer playing with Paradise Lost. When “The Plague within” was released last year I was in the middle of gigs with At The Gates and The Haunted. Since I couldn’t make all the gigs for the new album, it made sense for PL to have someone that can be there the whole time, which I couldn’t. I want to thank everyone in the band and management. It has been an amazing ride playing with one of my favourite bands and I feel very proud of the work we did together.”

Erlandsson is the fourth drummer that Paradise Lost has gone through since its inception in 1988, and literally the only position in the band thus far that is not occupied by a founding member. Maybe Paradise Lost will steal Bloodbath (and Opeth) drummer Martin Axenrot, just as Bloodbath had borrowed vocalist Nick Holmes?
