Original MOTORHEAD Guitarist Larry Wallis Has Died

motorhead larry wallis dies

Larry Wallis, who was the original guitarist of Motorhead, sadly passed away earlier this week at 70 years old. No cause of death has been revealed yet.

Wallis was recruited by Lemmy Kilmister to join Motorhead in 1975, and ended up playing on only one of the band's albums, their fourth release – 1979's On Parole. The album was recorded between 1975 and 1976, but for some reason wasn't released until three years later, long after he had left the band. His biggest contribution is writing the Motorhead track "Vibrator."

Wallis was of course replaced by “Fast” Eddie Clarke, who is the most well-known classic era Motorhead guitarist. Clarke sadly passed away in 2018.

Wallis would go on to perform with Pink Fairies and UFO. Our deepest sympathies to Wallis' friends and family.
