Boston P.D. intercepted a crowd of fans engaging in dangerous behavior recently during Flogging Molly over at the House of Blues. The club was cited on a violation of city code because of slam dancing. What the hell? Since when is slam dancing more dangerous than the drug and weapons related crimes that go down outside of a Boston nightclub? A number of musicians have voiced their concern over the issue with Brian Fair of Shadows Fall calling it "ridiculous," and Trevor Phipps of Unearth going so far as to say "this only proves how much the City of Boston hates heavy music."

The House of Blues has showcased popular artists such as GWAR, Motorhead, and Down since opening in Boston a few years ago. For now the club has put up neon signs warning people not to dance aggressively until City Hall can determine how serious moshing really is.
