MORBID ANGEL Is Scheduling Studio Time For A New Album

Five years out from Illus Divinum Insanus, and it's time for some death metal again.

In the world of metal, there's a pretty widely-accepted list of bands that really need to put out a new record. Fortunately, it looks like Morbid Angel can be knocked off that list this year, as bassist and vocalist Steve Tucker has revealed to The Metal Magdelena (below) that the band is in the process of scheduling time to do another record.

"Right now what's going on with Morbid is pretty much scheduling. Everything right now is just scheduling. We're getting everything together to make a new Morbid Angel album — getting dates set to start that process."

We learned in mid-2015 that the band's new material would be full-on death metal too, so those fearing Illud Divium Insanus, Pt. 2 is coming can concern themselves a little less with the possibility. As it currently stands, Morbid Angel is only founding guitarist and keyboardist Trey Azagthoth and vocalist and bassist Steve Tucker. David Vincent confusingly left the group to become a seemingly successful country artist, while guitarist Destructhor just straight up quit.

So now we get to play everyone's favorite game in metal, only this time about Morbid Angel, titled "Who The Hell Is Drumming In (Insert Band Name Here) Now?!"
