This morning we all found out that Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell had passed away at the age of 52 under uncertain circumstances. There were rumors that he had committed suicide, and unfortunately The Associated Press has confirmed those rumors to be true.
According to The Seattle Times, "[The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s office] determines Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell committed suicide by hanging in Detroit." We wish Cornell's family and friends privacy and peace at this time.
According to reports this morning, police reported that Cornell’s wife called a family friend to check on his well-being following Soundgarden’s concert in Detroit on Wednesday night. He was reported to be found unresponsive on the bathroom floor, and pronounced dead on the scene. An early statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
