Are they or aren't they?!
We've been going back and forth hearing that Tool is either halfway done with their new record or nowhere near done at all. First, their webmaster says the music is mostly done. Then, frontman Maynard Keenan says there are no new songs. Shortly after that, drummer Danny Carey said the band is still hopeful for a 2013 release.
Now Maynard has to come and ruin the party once more.
In a new interview with the Pulse of Radio, Maynard once again says that there are no finalized songs:
"Basically, right now it's a lot of ideas. Jamming. There's no actual songs for either project. It's still kind of noodles in a big basket . . . Lots of noodles, just no dishes."
"Either project" meaning Tool or A Perfect Circle, which is also jamming on new material, I guess…but who cares? I want new Tool not new A Perfect Circle.
Oddly enough, I just had a dream last night where I was hanging out backstage somewhere with Maynard interviewing him and he revealed to me, after my intense line of questioning, that he is really just trolling everybody and that a Tool record was coming this year. He just likes to mess with people. Let's hope my subconscious is correct!
