LINKIN PARK Cancel Tour, Chester Bennington's Official Cause of Death Confirmed

Can anybody blame them for cancelling?

Can anybody blame them for cancelling?

There are two updates in the aftermath of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington's tragic death via suicide yesterday.

To the surprise of nobody, Linkin Park cancelled their upcoming tour, which was slated to kick off next week. TMZ reached out to a rep who said the band couldn't even begin to think about touring right now, and who could really blame them? Live Nation will be issuing refunds at fans' original point of purchase.

Meanwhile, Billboard reports that the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed today that Bennignton died via hanging. Before today, there were only second-hand reports TMZ about the matter.

Bennington, who was 41 at the time of his death, was found hanging from a door in his bedroom. The office of the coroner noted no drugs were found at the scene, but there was a half bottle of alcohol. There was no suicide note. The report also states an autopsy has yet been scheduled.

A report yesterday noted, an unidentified member of Linkin Park arrived at Chester's residence to pick him up for a promotional photo shoot for the now cancelled tour shortly after police arrived.

Bennington made no secret of his internal struggles during interviews in the last few months of his life.
