"The next thing on my docket is Demons & Wizards anyway, so that's coming later in the year."

Demons & Wizards, the band consisting of Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer and Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch, isn't exactly known for cranking out tons of new material. The band was founded in 1997 and has released two albums thus far – Demons & Wizards in 1999 and Touched By The Crimson King in 2005. Now a full 13 years later after the latter, Schaffer tells Capital Choas TV that he's in no hurry to do another Iced Earth album right now but absolutely wants to get a new Demons & Wizards album out in 2018.

"I haven't made a decision on that yet. There's a lot of labels that are interested, and we're looking at different business models, but there's no hurry for Iced Earth to rush into anything. It's gonna be a while before we do a new record, 'cause this is so new. And the next thing on my docket is Demons & Wizards anyway, so that's coming later in the year — that's gonna be the focus of the creative energy this year. So we've got plenty of time. We're talking to some labels and looking at different options, but there's nothing set in stone yet."

We're definitely down for a new Demons & Wizards album! Dudes are very, very underrated considering the quality of their music. It's also worth noting that the group recruited ex-Iced Earth drummer Mark Prator for its first album and Bobby Jarzombek (Spastic Ink, Fates Warning, etc.) for its second album.
