Then a few months ago the band came out and said it would not be opposed to writing new music and seeing where that goes, and now Shadows Fall is headlining The Big Kahuna Festival at Fete Music Hall in Providence, RI.

So we've got the potential for new music, the band is taking on a few live gigs. Sounds like a pretty busy hiatus. Even if the band isn't super active right now, Shadows Fall is still performing all the needed tasks to be considered "active," or at least far from being on hiatus.
