You may recall that right around the time that Ghost's last record, Infestissumam, came out the band introduced a new frontman, Papa Emeritus II. The word on the street is it's actually played by the same guy, just the character was changed.
So, with news that the band is working on a third full-length album, it looks like the band is ready to recast their Papa. Metal Hammer caught up with one of the Nameless Ghouls at the Sonisphere Finland festival yesterday and he says they are on the hunt for a new frontman:
There will definitely be a third; we're looking into the options right now. We're trying to work out who's the best candidate.
"Number II is a real asshole so we're looking for someone with a different approach to things. He still has to be an entertainer, but we're narrowing down the contenders."
The ghoul also revealed that the band have settled on an album title and a few track titles, as well as some obscure covers, which the band have become known for.
I love all the theatrics of Ghost, which is why I've said previously, they don't just play a gig – they put on a performance.
The band is expected to enter the studio this fall.
