GHOST Aiming For A "More Metal"-Sounding Album For 2015

According to a Nameless Ghoul in Ghost, the band felt that their latest release, Infestissumam, was a bit too vocal-heavy and plan to kick up the metal a notch in 2015! Talk about revving the hype train engine far in advance, right?!

The Nameless Ghoul in question, who plays guitar in the band, recently told Berlin Metal TV:

"We're currently working [on] the material for the third [album]. It's gonna be out in spring of 2015. We're gonna tour up until summer, then we're gonna go in to record the record in the fall, so one year from now, we're gonna be in the studio."

Ghost always struck me as a band that has everything they do planned down to the last detail, so I can't say I'm surprised they're projecting this far down the line. I almost wish they'd have held off on the If You Have Ghosts EP a little bit longer to tide us over evenly until Album #3! The guitarist also said the band wants to go in a slightly different direction than they had with Infestissumam in terms of instrumentation and focus:

"From a guitarist point of view, I think that Infestissumam turned out a little bit too vocal sometimes. I'm pleased with the record, I'm just saying that in the future, we're probably gonna add more instrumental parts, which you in a way can probably regard as 'more metal' just because it's gonna be more guitars playing and more things happening."

What I'm gathering is 2015 will see Opus Eponifestissumam: Chunky Riffs Galore, which sounds fantastic. Don't get me wrong, I love Infestissumam and will always regard it as one of my favorites, but I'm cool with Ghost changing it up a bit. Especially considering they do the whole "drastic change in sound" thing oh so well.

Just to add to your raging bonergeist, the guitarist also said they'd try to work with Dave Grohl again if possible, saying:

"He's a very fun guy, so why not, I'd love to,"
