Ex-CHIMAIRA Drummer's Brother Sheds More Light On His Health Situation

"I will say this: His issue is abdominal. He has good days and bad days."

Ex-Chimaira drummer Andols Herrick's brother recently launched a crowdfunding campaign to help aid Herrick in his battle against some sort of mystery illness. Herrick doesn't want too much information out there on what's going on, though Herrick's brother did shed slightly more light on what's going on without overstepping his bounds.

"Thank you all. I’ve seen some people request a little more info so that they know what’s going on, but Andols requested that I not put anything in too specific. I will say this: His issue is abdominal. He has good days and bad days. On good days, he can move around a bit and perhaps run an errand. On bad days he can’t get out of bed or even bend over, much less eat very much. He has lost a ton of weight because of this and is a bit emaciated.

“Hopefully that gives you a little more clarity about what’s going on without violating his wishes. Thank you all again for your wonderful support of my brother."

Andols' father also took to the crowdfunding page to post a few words about what's going on.

"Friends of Andols:

"I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the kind and encouraging comments you’ve posted for my son Andols (Andy!), and I thank son, Tim, for coordinating this effort. He’s with me and mom Alys, and we’re working with him to find healthcare providers who can identify exactly what is wrong and get it fixed. In the mean time, we take it day by day. Your generous contributions at any level fill us with gratitude for all you have done and will do. I, like many of you, would like to see Andols return to the kit where his God-given gifts are centered. Let’s get him well, and then we’ll see.

"Again, thank you so much for supporting Andols both financially and emotionally."

Help Andols out here, if for no reason other than he brought you sweet, sweet drums on The Impossibility Of Reason (and more – dude was in the band from 1998 to 2003, and again from 2006 to 2010.)
