Let's recap… The promoter of Soundwave announced last week that Newsted was off the accompanying Sidewave off-dates with Megadeth at the behest of Dave Mustaine.
Megadeth's camp say Dave had nothing to do it. Dave then gets so pissed, he drops off the tour until he gets an apology. The promoter refuses. Meanwhile, Newsted reschedules the dates with Testament.
But wait! According to Australian metal site, Faster Louder, Jason is also out. He announced via (a now deleted) Facebook post. It gets weirder! The tour promoter issued a statement to Faster Louder:
Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah says that Newsted’s equipment has already arrived in Brisbane. He has tried to contact Newsted to discuss the announcement but hasn’t been able to reach him. Maddah has also confirmed that as the festival begins this weekend it’s too late to book a replacement and that acts already on the bill will be given longer sets if Newsted doesn’t play at the festival.
Uh, so is he playing or not? Ultimately, with all this ridiculous drama, the person who looks silliest is this promoter. Get your shit together, bruh!
