Hellfest Attendees Throw Jugs, Give Middle Finger To LINKIN PARK Frontman, Bennington Lashes Out

Chester Bennington cannot catch a break over Linkin Park's new sound.

Chester Bennington cannot catch a break over Linkin Park's new sound.

Linkin Park was one of the three headliners for Hellfest 2017, alongside super heavy acts such as Deep Purple and Aerosmith, though all the metal heads who stuck around for Linkin Park's set really, truly hated that they played stuff from the new album.

According to Twitter and YouTube footage, one fan threw a jug at frontman Chester Bennington while he was singing, while a few others gave him the finger. Here is some video:

Obviously there's been a very public spat between Bennington and fans over the new album's sound, but we'd also like to take this time to say that no matter how much you dislike a band's new album, please don't assault the frontman.

Here's the band's setlist from HELLFEST:

“Talking To Myself”
“Burn It Down”
“The Catalyst”
“Wastelands”
“One Step Closer”
“Castle Of Glass”
“Good Goodbye”
“Lost In The Echo”
“New Divide”
“Invisible”
“Waiting For The End”
“Breaking The Habit”
“One More Light”
“Crawling”
“Leave Out All The Rest”
“From The Inside”
“What I’ve Done”
“In The End”
“Faint”
“Numb”
“Heavy”
“Papercut”
