DRAGONFORCE Parts Ways With Bassist Frédéric Leclercq, YouTuber Stevie T To Fill In Live
Frédéric Leclercq, who played bass for Dragonforce since 2005, has parted ways with the band. Leclercq played bass on each of the band's records from 2006's Inhuman Rampage up to the new album Extreme Power Metal due out on September 27. Leclercq says there is no bad blood between him and the band, it's just that a really great opportunity came up for him that he couldn't turn down.
"I had an amazing opportunity that will be announced soon. There is no bad blood and I wish the band all the best. I want to thank the fans for their support throughout the years."
Guitarist Herman Li has also commented, thanking Leclercq.
"We want to thank Fred for all the musical contributions and good times over the years. As sad as we are to lose him, we are excited that he is going to continue playing the music he loves. He will always be a friend and a member of the Dragonforce family."
Filling in for Leclercq will be YouTube personality Stevie T.
