Rage Against The Machine recently announced a handful of 2020 reunion dates for March and April. Fans were excited. Multiple outlets reported that sources told them that more dates were coming, leaving fans on edge.
Over the weekend, world tour dates supposedly leaked via an Instagram screenshot of a rather simplistic tour flyer. Metal Injection did not publish the story at the time because we were not able to actually verify the leak. The tour admat did not specify venues but did include all five of the North American tour dates previously announced, which of course led metal media to begin reporting the rumor.
Turns out the screen grab is a big ol' fake from an Australian fan. According to a statement published by Wall Of Sound from the fan, this Rage fan was just a big fan of trolling with the underlying intention of maybe getting Rage Against The Machine to come to Australia. Here's what the troll said:
So, the insta was shopped, the poster isn’t anything amazing but the Insta really sells it. I just changed the post count and time stamp of it haha As far as why [I did it], I mean, I love a good troll hey. Plus how sick would it be if Rage did get their ass down here, and Splendour doesn’t seem too far out of the realm of possibility. Especially as it’s their 20th year.”
The only five confirmed dates for Rage Against the Machine's reunion are the ones below.

In related reunion news, Wu-Tang Clan mastermind RZA recently pitched Rage Against The Machine to tour together. Which frankly would be probably one of the best tours of 2020.
"I think it's a great thing for Rage to be reunited. Tom [Morello] and Zack [de la Rocha] getting back together and Coachella's gonna be exciting. If the stars line up right, when they finish that Coachella one, they need to hook up with Wu-Tang and finish that tour we never finished."
Prophets of Rage, the band that was basically Rage Against The Machine fronted by Cypress Hill's B-Real and Public Enemy's Chuck D, has unsurprisingly broken up following the news of a Rage Against The Machine reunion. Stay tuned for maybe an actual world tour announcement, especially given the now-free-er schedules of everyone after the disbanding of Prophets of Rage.
