Oh, dear. You might recall, a few weeks ago former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri was caught in a four hour stand-off with the S.W.A.T. Team outside of his home, over a dispute with his girlfriend. After searching his home, not only did the SWATers find a loaded shotgun, but also some cocaine and methamphetamines.
According to TMZ, "Oliveri is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count of resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer." This could result in a maximum penalty of 15 years of prison time, which is a lot of time to not be playing music (or doing coke for that matter). I would assume Oliveri would not get the max time, but one thing is for certain: this basically seals the deal that he will never return to QOTSA, as Homme has stated in the past that this was exactly the reasoning for letting him go in the first place. Bummer!
