It seems that Lemmy's hematoma scare was worse than the band originally expected. After cancelling a select few shows last week, the band has went ahead and cancelled all of their festival appearances booked over the summer.
Drummer Mikkey Dee revealed the news to GT.se that Motorhead are canceling shows and it's not just because of a cold:
“Things are improving with Lemmy, but the doctors in Berlin are recommending that he rests for another couple of weeks. We can’t keep canceling show after show, it’s too costly. Therefore we unfortunately have to cancel the entire tour. There will be an official announcement regarding his health shortly… But we’re not canceling because of a cold and this is something we’ve put a lot of thought into.”
While the band reassured everybody that Lemmy is "alive, breathing, talking, f**king, drinking, eating, reading and will be back to playing shows shortly" last week, it still seems like things are not working out for the metal legend.
Everybody here and I'm sure everybody in the metal world is wishing Lemmy a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, let's look back to a healthier time, Lemmy's 50th birthday when Metallica dressed up as him and played some Motorhead cover tunes.
