When Mercyful Fate announced their long-awaited reunion a few weeks ago, some fans took pause that guitarist Michael Denner was not listed among the members of touring Fate crew.
Dunner was asked by Danish metal outlet Metalized why he was not part of the reunion and here is a translation of his response:
"I was not asked to join, and was told only two days before it was public news. I think it's a pity for the fans of the original Mercyful Fate. Especially since I'm in the shape of my life right now. But now it's just a matter of putting it behind me, and look forward to the release of the upcoming Denner's Inferno album, In Amber."
Denner always seemed gung-ho about doing a Fate reunion. When Metal Injection visited his record shop in 2013, Denner said he was ready to go. Take a look at that video piece below.
