Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds has revealed he has broken his leg, via an Instagram post late last night.
"Broke my fucking leg starting my motorcycle goddamnit" writes Hinds in the caption. "Sorry to all the shows I was about to play with gto and west and more and fiend without a face. Life's a bitch then you die :( Happy thanking!"
Hinds was about to embark on Giraffe Tongue Orchestra's first tour, his new band which also features Alice In Chains frontman William DuVall and The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman. It is unclear if the group will get a replacement, although Hinds makes it seem like he's not going to be able to make it.
From past experiences, a break, if no surgery is required will require a minimum of six weeks in a cast and then a few months of physical therapy to recover from.
Hinds spent the last few months in the studio with Mastodon, who just wrapped recording their new album.
