Last night's New York City Marilyn Manson show was cut short when a piece of the set fell on Manson as he was performing "Sweet Dreams." It looked like Manson grabbed onto the gun prop and slipped and was immediately crushed by the set piece. The music stopped and the show was cancelled shortly after. Video of the incident can be seen here. Photos from the show can be seen in our photo gallery.
Manson was taken to the hospital, as photos showed, and earlier today, his bandmate, Tyler Bates, posted a photo from the airport with a caption noting the tour was "on pause for a minute." Bates noted he was heading home and that "Manson will be back in action soon." No official statement was made about the remainder of the tour dates, until now. A rep from Manson released the following statement, noting that nine upcoming shows will be rescheduled for another time:
"Marilyn Manson is being forced to cancel several of his October dates on his forthcoming U.S. tour. On Saturday night, the legendary performer suffered an injury on stage towards the end of his set at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom causing him to cut the show short. He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles.
"The shows from Boston, October 2 through Houston, October 14 will be rescheduled for a later date. Manson hopes to return to the stage soon, more details on upcoming shows to follow."
Manson will likely take the stage next on October 15 at Grand Prairie, Texas's Freaker's Ball. We'll keep you posted on any further updates. Manson's scheduled routing can be seen here.
