NE OBLIVISCARIS Parts Ways With Bassist Over "Irreconcilable Personal Differences"

Well, that sucks.

Well, that sucks.

Ne Obliviscaris began work on a new album last December, though it doesn't look like you'll be hearing bassist Brendan "Cygnus" Brown on the release. According to a Facebook post from Ne Obliviscaris, the band has parted ways with Brown due to "irreconcilable personal differences."

After much deliberation we have decided to part ways with our bassist, Brendan ‘Cygnus’ Brown due to irreconcilable personal differences.

We know this will come as a shock to our fans. Brendan has been a big part of this band for many years, and it’s a decision that has not been taken lightly.

We will still be moving forward with recording our new album in the first half of 2017 as planned, and are looking forward to getting back on the road to perform for you all later this year with a new bassist on board.

I guess this had to have happened recently, considering the band just played an exclusive acoustic set on January 21. Brown appears to already be keeping busy with not only Vipassi and Infinite Density, but with a new project called Nefelibata. No word on Vipassi's status either, considering it's Brown and two other Ne Obliviscaris dudes.

Also, it's worth noting that Brown is not technically the band's original bassist. That belongs to Adam Cooper, who founded the group in 2003 and left in 2004.
