David Vincent Is Out of MORBID ANGEL; Replacement Announced [UPDATE – He Says He's Not]

This is certainly shocking.

This is certainly shocking.

Update: A few hours after this post was published, David Vincent issued a statement denying that he is out of Morbid Angel. Read the statement here.

In a rather shocking development, Blabbermouth has just reported that founding Morbid Angel bassist and vocalist David Vincent is leaving the band (again.)

Sole founding member Trey Azagthoth has posted to his social media that he is once again working with vocalist, Steve Tucker, who replaced Vincent in 1997, when Vincent quit the band for personal reasons, and that the next record would "certainly be an amazingly sick World Beater!"

Blabbermouth is reporting that drummer Tim Yeung is likely also no longer involved with the project. Yeung replaced longtime Morbid drummer Pete Sandoval, who had to recover from back surgery. No word on who is replacing Yeung.

Vincent returned to the band and released a new album, Illud Divinum Insanus in 2011, which led to mixed, mostly negative reactions from longtime fans. No word from Vincent about this development.

Update: Tim Yeung confirmed to Blabbermouth he is no longer in the band due to financial differences. Here's his statement:

“I’ve been waiting to break the news for a while about this. Now seems like the proper time to do so. As some of you know there have been some lineup changes with Morbid Angel. Unfortunately, due to financial differences, I will not be continuing with them. It has been a great five years being involved with Morbid Angel. I’ve met a ton of great people all over the world, played some amazing shows, and have a ton of great memories as well as stories. I wish Trey and Morbid Angel all the best. As for myself, I’m always up for the next opportunity life throws my way.”
