PSA: Check Your Ticketmaster Account For Free Tickets

Posted by on June 20, 2016 at 4:21 pm

Ticketmaster recently lost a class-action lawsuit which alleged the company's fees were "deceptive and accessive." No shit, right? But how does this affect you…

Turns out that as part of the settlement, if you purchased tickets through Ticketmaster from 1999 to 2013, you are entitled to some free cash, in the form of vouchers for future purchases. Here's how you get the free tickets…

Log in to your Ticketmaster account, and in the right-side menu click the "Active Vouchers" button. It might take a few times to load because Ticketmaster is bogged down with these requests by now, but they should be in there. What you will see are vouchers that would make you eligible for free tickets to upcoming events. Buzzfeed points out this is what they look like:

There are some catches. You can only redeem the vouchers at Live Nation venues (Ticketmaster's parent company) and some venues/concerts will be deemed ineligible. For a list of concerts that are eligible, visit this page.

Did you check your Ticketmaster page? How many vouchers do you have handy?
