Every Thursday, Gimme Radio Program Director, Brian Turner, delivers the top 5 jaw-dropping tracks on Gimme Radio.

Culled from the week’s past shows, these tracks have the Gimme Radio DJs' seal of approval, have the listeners demanding more and the Gimme office buzzing.

CROC NOIR – Mort

It's about time someone named a metal band after a man-eating machine. What could be more metal? France's Croc Noir, recently showcased on Andee Connors' great Battle Flutes and Sideways Skulls show here on Gimme, probably obliterate your expectations of what raw, depressive black metal could be. They do this by adding accordion, and succeeding at incorporating it well into the thematic vibe cloaking this mysterious unit.

Forthcoming Gimme guest DJs have deconstructed the Nirvana tune from its original brittle guitar/cello moan into a swirling, glossy pile of deep atmosphere and doom.

HIGH ON FIRE – Bat Salad

A new HoF jam plopped between a Celtic Frost and Bad Brains cover on their Record Store Day release.

FULL OF HELL – Salmaril

With guest vox from Encenathrakh/Gath Šmânê's Paulo Paguntalen, Full of Hell are back, now on Relapse, with totally insane bloodthirsty attack that has stripped away everything bloated you associate with anything Tolkien-related in rock. By many accounts this was one of the most unhinged sets related to Decibel Fest this past week (they played the Friday pre-fest opener).
