Hey there tech-fiends! For now, the stream train continues yet again this week, and next. But rest assured, I have plenty of other new albums and bands to show you for any upcoming editions I don't devote to full early release streams! Before we delve into today's focus, I'll mention as always that all prior editions of this series can be checked out here.

Today's target is Minneapolis natives Invidiosus, who will be releasing their new EP, Guided Towards The Inevitable, this Friday, June 17th through Twin Town Tyrant Records. While I've been following and enjoying the band ever since their impressive 2014 debut full-length, Malignant Universe, I'm really impressed with the band's noticeable evolution on Guided Towards The Inevitable. It's not that their brand of Origin, Hate Eternal, old school death metal, and grind influenced take on tech-death wasn't already damn impressive before, merely that the band have noticeably grown into ever more sophisticated songwriters capable of creating new music with more twists and turns and sonic diversity to spice things up.

All of which is made perfectly clear from the explosive opener and title track, "Guided Towards The Inevitable", which has quickly become one of my favorite songs by the band to date. It's an expansive number that smoothly cycles through a myriad of ideas and phases without ever feeling forced or disjointed along the way. An accomplishment in and of itself in this type of music! From there, it continues to shred souls and warp minds, but also finds time for momentary grooves, beautiful solos, and an unpredictable nature that shakes things up whenever a section could conceivably feel like verging on having gone on for too long.

If you like what you hear below, their label has physical pre-orders available here, and  band is  also accepting digital pre-orders for Guided Towards The Inevitable over at their Bandcamp here. Be sure to follow them on their Facebook page as well. If you dig this and want to hear more by the band, you can also check out their killer prior full-length, Malignant Universe, on their Bandcamp page here too.
