YELLOW EYES Hallucinates Horrible Visions On New Song "No Dust"

Get frozen out into a terrifying land of nightmares.

Yellow Eyes

Metal Injection writer Cody Davis interviewed Will and Sam Skarstad of Yellow Eyes about their then-unrevealed new record back in January. The brothers discussed field recordings used on the record, writing in an isolated cabin in the woods of Connecticut, and losing tons of recordings after said cabin was broken into. Now you can finally hear the fruits of their labor via the new song "No Dust", which is as cold and focused as Yellow Eyes has ever sounded.

Here's what Sam had to say about the track in an interview with Decibel.

“Each track title on this album is something that can protect you. Then the lyrics of the songs are hallucinatory sketches about the titles. The album is about trying to touch the ceiling, and perhaps the character here is trying to find it in the green and blue hallways of a flooded house.

"Will came back from another trip to Siberia a few weeks before we went into the studio, and he brought home a new series of field recordings that became vital to the shape of the album. You’ll hear a fragment of that in this track, as well as a plucked zither-type instrument made by our bassist, Alex."

Yellow Eyes will release their new record Rare Field Ceiling on June 28.
