Song Premiere: FISTULA Conjure Up Some Nasty Doom Laden Filth With "To AA Clown"

It's a track that is purely Fistula: adversarial, pissed and ugly. It's everything you need to get you through this Friday.

It's been a hot minute since we heard some new Fistula.

For the uninitiated, Fistula is what you get when you sit down the video nasty era and force some aggressive doom down its throat. The Akron, OH group has been punching out filth since the early 2000s with Hymns of Slumber and hasn't slowed down their output. They've done splits with Hemdale, Come to Grief, -(16)- and more. Basically, if you're not into Fistula already, it's time you were.

Their most recent release is At War With Prentension, a split with Junkov•en, and we're here with Fistula's latest track: "To AA Clown."

If you don't like your filth heavy, then you're already lost on this one. "To AA Clown" kicks in with a brief bit of feedback and the track starts stabbing into your ear like a deleted scene straight out of Pieces. This track is just as dirty as you've come to expect from the band. Sludgy, murky doom spills as the song spews forth as the lyrics "Shit stain of the South," splatter out. The intensity only builds from there on out. The sludgy doom remains, but the ferocity kicks up notch after notch as the song carries on. Instrumentation only gets heavier and darker as the song carries on and the lyrics become more and more pissed and vile. A guitar solo creeps up like a deformed killer with a pair of gardening shears and lays waste.

It's a track that is purely Fistula: adversarial, pissed and ugly. It's everything you need to get you through this Friday.

At War With Pretension is being released on limited, one time pressing vinyl through PATAC Records. You can order it here.
