Slipknot have followed up the release of their two previous singles, "Unsainted" and "Solway Firth," with another jam that crushes. Today, the band unveils "Birth Of The Cruel," their third official single off the new album.
For the release of the song, the band have compiled a "vertical video" friendly for mobile phones that showcases the band's new summer look, including the white jumpsuits and updated masks from the "Unsainted" music video.
“These days the art we are making comes with the highest reward, because it’s taken the most time,” says Clown of the new album. “Almost four years to create this emotion and temperature, and the reward now is nothing short of salvation.”
“This is the most time we’ve had to write a record, and work stuff out together,” adds guitarist Jim Root. “One of my inspirations this time around was those artists that recorded full-length albums – not just songs. While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back.”
Slipknot's tour resumes tomorrow in Denver. They are out with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth. Here are the dates:
