GADGET Loses Vocalist, Posts Grinding New Song "Funerary Rites"

They have a friend helping them on this track.

GADGET live at Saint Vitus Bar, Oct

The good news here is that Gadget has posted a new song called "Funerary Rites". The bad news is that vocalist Emil Englund, who has been with the band since 2001, isn't on it. Englund left Gadget in 2019, and the band will release a handful of songs with a handful of vocalists in his place.

"After almost 20 years Emil has decided to leave the band. Well, actually he left the band last year.

"Johan of INFRACTION/Prescriptiondeath helped us out on the last gig we did and was also supposed to join us for Dreadfest this year.

"We will have some friends doing vocals on a couple of recordings that we've been working on for some time, Johan is one of them. Emilia from Radium Grrrls, Ethan of Vermin Womb/Primitive Man and Ufuk of Walk Through Fire is other great names worth mentioning. After that we'll see what the future holds."

"Funerary Ties" features the aforementioned vocalist, Johan Lundmark. You can download the track here.

It’s nice to be reminded that there’s still more aural destruction in the band’s fingertips via The Great Destroyer. An aptly titled album.
