Abhorrent Expanse is now streaming their new single "Path Of Extremal Action" off their upcoming record Gateways To Resplendence. If you're a fan of the more free jazz side of metal, then you're really going to dig this one.

"'Path of Extremal Action' functions as a feature for our resident percussion mastermind Tim Glenn. After a brief introduction, the guitars and bass give Tim room to pound and expound, punctuating his phrases with improvised rhythmic cues modeled after Butch Morris's 'conduction' method. The drums and guitars eventually meld into a singular wall of noise, riding the ensuing chaos back into the darkness."

Gateways To Resplendence was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Adam Tucker (Blue Ox, Wanderer, Sunless, Void Omnia), and completed with cover artwork by David Jorquera and design by Bill Harris. The album is out April 8 and you can pre-order it here.

You can catch Abhorrent Expanse on tour with Sunless at one of the dates below.

4/5 Icehouse – Minneapolis, MN
4/6 TBA – Milwaukee, WI
4/7 Cobra Lounge – Chicago, IL
