FALLS OF RAUROS Offers A Glimpse Of No Coming Shores

Much of heavy metal's enduring appeal stems from the genre's malleability. There will always be fans who stick to safe mainstream bands like Lamb of God and Slipknot, but adventurous headbangers know there's a whole world of amazing, mind-expanding music lurking beneath heavy metal's obsidian surface. Maine's Falls of Rauros are one such band, and the music they create is as challenging as it is rewarding. Falls of Rauros work from a standard black metal template, but the band bends and warps stylistic conventions while incorporating elements of folk and progressive music into their compositions. Falls of Rauros recorded their debut album back in 2008, but it wasn't until the release of 2011's The Light That Dwells In Rotten Wood that the band started generating a small amount of buzz within the underground metal community. What little chatter surrounded the album was well deserved, too – The Light That Dwells was one of the best USBM albums in recent memory.

Now, after 3 years, Falls of Rauros are preparing to return with their third full length, Believe In No Coming Shores. Nordvis, the European distributor for the album, has recently posted two songs from Believe on Bandcamp to wet listeners' appetites, and ,if these two songs are any indication, this album is going to be something very special. Pre-orders for the CD are already available through Bindrune Recordings. Listen to both of the new tracks below and try to contain your excitement until the album's October 1st release date.
