CUREZUM Mashes Together THE CURE & BURZUM and It Totally Works!

...it's really good. Why is this so good.

In the day and age of 100,000 bands taking any pop song and "making it metal" is played out. All you need is a downtuned guitar, autotuned vocals for the recognizable hook and the rest can be trite whatever-heavy. Easy, right? Mostly.

Mort Subite (Megaton Leviathan, Vaital Deul, Alfheimr) and Martti Hill (Barrowlands) figured it was high time someone did something about this as well, so the duo formed Curezum, or band that does true-to-the-original black metal covers of The Cure songs. Who the hell knew The Cure was constantly two steps away from being a great lack metal group?

Check out the two songs below, courtesy of CVLT Nation, and pre-order the cassette of the band's first double single titled One Hundred Years right here.
