It's been about two weeks since Scott Weiland had passed away. Weiland was found dead in his tour bus. with his immediate cause of death filed as cardiac arrest.

It's no surprise that when a musician dies, their music sees a rebirth of interest and that is exactly what happened to Weiland's back catalogue of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver discographies. Billboard reports that on the digital sales front, eight of the 10 top tracks in the Hard Rock Digital Songs last week were Weiland-fronted tracks (six from STP and two from Velvet Revolver):

The top-performing song, Stone Temple Pilots' "Plush," returns to top the chart, up by 1,405 percent to 18,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen Music. (It sold 1,000 the week before.) STP's "Interstate Love Song" also re-enters at No. 2 (14,000, up 1,447 percent), followed by the band's "Creep" at No. 3 (9,000, up 1,192 percent). "Fall to Pieces," the top-selling track from Velvet Revolver, ranks at No. 4 (8,000, up 2,512 percent).

Also in the top tier: STP's "Vasoline," "Big Empty" and "Sex Type Thing" arrive at Nos. 6-8, respectively, with Velvet Revolver's "Slither" new at No. 9.

Albums are getting love too. Stone Temple Pilots' best-of collection, Thank You re-entered the Billboard charts this week at number 47 with 17k units, up 1,787%. The group's debut release, Core, also charted, at #145 with 7k units. Billboard also reports the track "Plush" registered 1.3 million streams this week, a 313% rise.
