Earlier today Slash joined CBS This Morning to announce the release of his upcoming video "Under The Savage Sun". A video built on a partnership with the International Fund for Animal Welfare in an effort to raise awareness for endangered elephants due to ivory trade. As a contributing member of various animals rights and conservation foundations myself, I was really happy to learn of his involvement with the program. Also really exciting was Slash's responses to more personal questions.
They discuss things like him being sober for 9 years, his racial identity growing up, and of course the possibility of a GNR reunion.
When asked about the current status of the Slash / Axl feud he comments:
"Well, we haven't really talked in a long time, but a lot of the tension that you were talking about has dissipated. We don't have all those issues anymore. It's not a lot of controversy. It's something that is more perpetuated by the media, more than anything."
When asked about the possibility of a reunion he says:
"I've got to be careful what I say there. I mean, if everybody wanted to do it and do it for the right reasons, I think the fans would love it. I think it might be fun at some point to try and do that."
Overall these are some level-headed answers that at least shine a glimmer of hope there could be a proper Guns N Roses reunion someday. Hopefully Axl and Izzy can get on the same page soon!
